Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premiere professional outdoor lacrosse league will host its annual collegiate draft Sunday June 6
at 7:00 PM ET at Lanman Center at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Prior to the draft itself the collegiate players invited to attend the event will participate in the 2010 Warrior Major League Lacrosse Challenge at 2:30 pm at the Yale Bowl. The exhibition game features a team of elite graduating college seniors playing against the US Men’s National Team. The full-length exhibition game, played under MLL rules will be part of Team USA’s preparation for the 2010 World Games in Manchester, England.
The game also offers fans a unique opportunity to check out the college players who will soon be drafted into the MLL later in the evening, as they try one final time to impress MLL coaches and general managers. Tickets to the game can be purchased for $10 at the Yale Bowl prior to the game, or online. Free parking will also be available at the Yale Bowl. The College All-Star team roster provides an imposing lineup with players from top collegiate lacrosse programs such as Max Quinzani (Duke), Michael Kimmel (Johns Hopkins), Ken Clausen (Virginia), Parker McKee (Duke), Brian Carroll (Virginia) and Chris Daniello (Syracuse). Former MLL Start Roy Colsey will serve at the head coach for the College All-Stars.
While the College Stars team is comprised of players hoping to become future players in the league, Team USA’s roster is filled with current MLL All-Stars. Team USA will compete for the FIL World Championship in Manchester, England starting on July 14, 2010. Players that will take the field for Team USA on Sunday are the top players from the MLL including Paul Rabil (Boston), Kevin Leveille (Chicago), Drew Westervelt (Denver), Ryan Boyle (Boston) Brendan Mundorf (Denver), Kyle Dixon (Chesapeake) and Max Seibald (Denver). Duke senior Ned Crotty will also be playing for Team USA. Team USA is led by head coach Mike Pressler of Bryant University.
After the game both players from the College All-Stars and Team USA will be available to sign autographs for fans.
