DENVER – Outlaws attackman Brendan Mundorf, midfielders Peet Poillon and Jeremy Sieverts, defenseman Lee Zink and goalie Jesse Schwartzman were named to the 2012 MLL All Star game the league announced on Wednesday.
Sieverts and Poillon will play for the Young Guns team that consists of players who entered the league from 2009-12, while Mundorf, Zink and Schwartzman play for the Old School team made up of players who entered the league before 2009.
Mundorf, who will participate in his sixth MLL All-Star Game, ranks second in the league with 4.4 points per game thus far in the 2012 season. He has posted 11 goals and 11 assists in five games this season.
Poillon was injured in the team’s third game of the year, yet has still posted eight goals, including a two-pointer, and five assist for 14 points on the season. This marks Poillon’s third consecutive All-Star appearance.
Sieverts, who has burst onto the MLL scene this year with 13 goals, three assists and five two-point goals, will be making his first All-Star Game appearance. His 21 total points and five two-point goals rank fifth in the league this year.
Zink, an All-Star staple will be playing in his sixth MLL All-Star Game. He has appeared in each of the league’s past six All-Star weekends. A member of the league’s 10-year anniversary team, Zink has anchored an Outlaws defense through the first half of the season.
Schwartzman, who won last season’s Goalie Gauntlet competition at the All-Star Game, will appear in his fifth MLL All-Star Game this year. He ranks second in the league with a 10.5 goals against average, 72 saves and .541 save percentage this season.
