DENVER - This season the Outlaws have won 151 of their 251 face-offs. The Outlaws are looking to improve on these numbers with a new addition to the roster.
Anthony Kelly, a face-off specialist for the Ohio Machine was traded to the Denver Outlaws for the remainder of the 2012 MLL season.
In addition to Anthony Kelly, the Machine also traded a 5th round pick in the 2013 Supplemental Draft to Denver in exchange for the Outlaws 2nd round pick in the 2013 College Draft and 4th round pick in the 2013 Supplemental Draft.
Kelly has played seven out of eight games for the Machine this season. In the gameshe played Kelly has has recorded 77-157 at the face-off and has scooped up 23 groundballs.
Before joining the MLL, Kelly spent four years playing for Ohio State University. During his time at Ohio State he became the only lacrosse player in school history to lead the team in groundballs all four years of his collegiate career.
After college Kelly moved on to play with the L.A. Riptide, and as a rookie had 132 winning face-offs and scored six goals. Kelly also played with Chicago and Rochester before joining Ohio.
The Denver Outlaws are excited to add Anthony Kelly to their roster, and look forward to having him on the field for the team’s home finale on Saturday.
