DENVER – The Outlaws (5-1) used a 10-1 advantage in the first half to hold off the Lizards (2-4) in front of 10,142 fans at INVESCO Field at Mile High on Saturday night after Broncos Ring of Fame Running Back Terrell Davis’s pregame speech. Davis started the evening’s scoring with a goal on the ceremonial first shot.

Andrew Hennessey finished the night 23-of-29 (.793 pct.) on faceoffs, which represented an Outlaws franchise record for winning percentage. Denver's attack unit capitalized on the extra possessions earned from Hennessey's faceoffs to the tune of eight straight goals in the first half.

The Outlaws jumped on the scoreboard first when Jarett Park scored just 17 seconds into the game.

Five minutes later, Brendan Mundorf scored his first of four goals giving the Outlaws a 2-0 lead. The Lizards responded four minutes later as Stephen Berger recorded his first of three goals on the evening.

The Outlaws caught fire late in the first quarter, scoring four goals in a span of three minutes to take a 6-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Mundorf’s goal late in the first quarter gave him two on the night early on.

As the second quarter came around, the Outlaws continued their offensive explosion scoring four goals in three minutes. Mundorf completed his fourth hat trick of the season as he scored at the 4:26 mark to give the Outlaws a 7-1 lead. Following Mundorf’s third goal, Connor Martin scored consecutive goals at the 5:33 and 6:42 marks.

Following a Long Island timeout, the Lizards went on a 5-0 run, including a two-point goal from Matt Danowski bringing the Lizards within five.

Martin, who would go on to earn Bud Light Player of the Game honors, scored four jaw-dropping goals in the second half for a total of a career-best five goals on the night.

Other Outlaws on the scoresheet in the second half included Drew Westervelt’s second on the night, Mundorf’s fourth of the game, Seibald’s two-point goal, which gave him three points on the night, and Bill McGlone’s solo goal.

The Outlaws return to action at INVESCO Field at Mile High vs. Boston at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 3. Fans have the opportunity to enjoy Denver’s only Sunday night post-game fireworks show. The Outlaws hope to set a professional lacrosse record for attendance, which the team set last season (23,433). Tickets start at just $15 and are available at www.DenverOutlaws.com or by calling 303-OUTLAWS.
