TWO OUTLAWS MAKE FINAL CUT FOR TEAM USA ROSTER

DENVER — Team USA announced Monday that two Denver Outlaws made the final roster for the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships. The event will be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver July 10-19, with more than 40 games being televised across multiple ESPN platforms.

Goalie Jesse Schwartzman and defenseman Lee Zink made the cut and will compete for Team USA. It is the first time making the final roster for each player. Lee Zink travelled to England for the 2010 World Championships as a Team USA alternate.

A record 38 nations will be in Denver competing in the FIL World Championships, broken down into nine divisions. Team USA is grouped in the Blue Division with the other top five teams in the world—Australia, Canada, England, Iroquois, and Japan. The top four teams in the division will advance to the quarterfinal round, with the top two seeds receiving a bye into the semifinal round.

Team USA kicks off the tournament against Canada in a rematch of the 2010 title game. Team USA’s TV schedule is below:
