A First-Team All Big East honoree, Mattes lead the conference with a .635 winning percentage on faceoffs (160-252) during his senior season... Led Rutgers with 61 ground balls and scored one goal with four assists during his final season with the Scarlet Knights... Won 114-of-217 draws (.525 pct.) his junior season, in which he also scored one goal with one assist and led the team with 59 ground balls... Won 69-of-115 draws (.600 pct.) as a sophomore and ranked fourth on the team with 30 ground balls.

Personal

A four year starter in both lacrosse and soccer at Westfield High School, he set school records in ground balls and earned First-Team All-State, All-Area and All-Division honors... Also earned First-Team All-State and All-County for soccer... Was a team captain for both lacrosse and soccer teams as a senior... Majored in sports management... Has one sister... The son of Ray and Sue, Chris Mattes was born on May 12, 1988 in Westfield, Va.
