Unterstein played 14 games as a senior at Hofstra, scoring one goal and picking up a team-high 70 ground balls en route to Colonial Athletic Association first-team honors... Named CAA Defensive Player of the Year and CAA Championship Tournament MVP... Appeared in 19 games as a junior, finishing with three goals and two assists for a total of five points, to go along with 85 ground balls... Earned USILA All-American honorable mention honors... Named to the All-CAA second team as well as the All-CAA Tournament team... Played 16 games as a sophomore and registered 36 ground balls... Teamed with his twin brother Mike, and older brother Chris to help lead Hofstra to a 17-2 record, a No. 2 national ranking and a No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament... Named to the All-CAA Rookie Team as a freshman... Graduated with a degree in sociology.
Personal
Unterstein earned high school all-America honors at Shoreham-Wading River High, in Shoreham, N.Y.... Currently in his first season as an assistant coach at his Alma mater, Hofstra University after spending the 2009-10 season as an assistant coach at the University of Denver and the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach for Princeton University... Won four Suffolk County championships and one state championship... Has a twin brother, Mike, and an older brother Chris, who both play for the Long Island Lizards... Chris played two games for the Outlaws during the 2007 season... All three brothers played lacrosse at Hofstra... Kevin Unterstein was born on June 5, 1986 in Shoreham, N.Y.
