HOME OPENER TODAY

With a beautiful Saturday in Denver, the Outlaws are set to open their 2008 campaign at INVESCO Field at Mile High this evening at 7pm. The CHSAA boy's championship lacrosse game between Kent Denver and Ft. Collins will preceed the Outlaws game, with a 4:30pm faceoff. Outlaws tickets start at just $8 and are available at the INVESCO Field at Mile High box office or by visiting Ticketmaster.com.

Jesse Schwartzman will get the start in goal, filling the shoes of Trevor Tierney who retired this year and will take over as defensive coordinator for the team this year.

Indoor crossover players to look for this evening will be Brian Langtry, Tom Ethington, Brendan Mundorf, Geoff Snider, Matt Brown, Nick Carlson and Drew Westervelt.

A new midfielder to look for this evening will be Nate Watkins, the 6' 4" 200lb addition from San Francisco this year. Watkins will be joining other popular returning Outlaws like Jeff Sonke, Lee Zink, Casey Cittadino, Benson Erwin and Matt Hanna on the field in tonight's matchup against the Los Angeles Riptide.

General Manager and Head Coach, Brian Reese will be without 2 key players this evening. The off-season addition of Ryan Powell will have to wait until next week when the Outlaws travel to Washington, as Powell will be playing in the NLL Championship game today for the Portland Lumberjax. The Outlaws will also be without the services of midfielder Josh Sims, who is recovering from an ankle sprain from the indoor season.

Come to INVESCO Field early and tailgate on Sports Legends Mall on the south side of the stadium. There will be live music, a beer garden, pick-up mini lacrosse games, bean bag toss, an accuracy shot contest with prizes, food sampling and more!
