Love was in the air during Week 2 of the 2012 MLL Season.
During a third-quarter timeout of Denver's home opener vs. Hamilton, Outlaws intern Anna came onto the field for what she thought was a typical on-field promotion.
But her first night of working an Outlaws game took a twist when she saw her boyfriend, Dustin, emerge from the stands.
“I was so confused when he was on the field,” Anna said. “I said something along the lines of ‘What are you doing on the field, we are busy!’”
Dustin dropped to one knee and proposed, drawing applause from the crowd.
After the initial shock wore off – Anna said that she was “so surprised,” – she happily said yes.
Anna and Dustin met while she was working at a restaurant and served Dustin and his friends. Eight months later, the couple is engaged.
That wasn’t the only proposal in Major League Lacrosse last weekend.
Hours before Dustin’s proposal, a fan in Boston, Nate, asked Kayla to prom using a scoreboard message (pictured below) during the Cannons’ game against the Hounds. The stadium public address announcer directed fans’ attention to the scoreboard for a “very important message.”
Those couples took love for the game to a whole new level.
