The Denver Outlaws assembled at the Denver Broncos Training Facility in Englewood, Colo. for the team’s 2012 training camp over the weekend. The two-day session included on-field drills, scrimmages and team meetings. While the team was shorthanded due to the ongoing NLL season, 27 players were able to participate in the first weekend of camp.
Saturday, April 14
8 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
The team met with physicians for physicals, took headshots, and did interviews with local media. The players also met the new coaching staff – the first meeting for many of the players.
10:15 a.m. – 11 a.m.
General Manager Tony Seaman kicked off the first team meeting, introducing his coaching staff before turning the floor over to Head Coach Jim Stagnitta. After running down the weekend’s schedule, Stagnitta laid out his expectations for the team. Assistant coaches B.J. O’Hara and Stan Ross also briefly addressed the team.
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Outlaws hit the field for their first practice of the 2012 season. The team ran through a variety of drills and finished with a full-field scrimmage.
1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
The team ate lunch, provided by Heidi’s Deli.
2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The players were back on the field for their second practice of the day. Stagnitta and the rest of the coaches divided players into orange and white teams for the session.
4:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Equipment Manager Jon Cohen distributed shoes, shafts and heads as the day came to a close.
Hard Rock Café hosted the Outlaws for a team dinner.
Sunday, April 15
10 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
The team began the second day of camp with more on-field work and scrimmages. Players had to battle high winds as they worked on various drills.
12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Lunch was again provided by Heidi’s Deli.
1:45 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Team meeting to wrap up the weekend’s session. The Outlaws will travel to Baltimore next weekend (April 21-22) for more practices and a scrimmage against the Bayhawks at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
