Northern Conference Game of the Week

Foothills Conference Post Game of the Week

Last Friday’s Game of the Week between Golden and Prairie View High Schools’ Boys Lacrosse teams proved to be a great season opener for both teams. With a 4-10 victory over Prairie View the Demons began their season with a strong team performance.  Although Prairie View’s heart is not to be diminished the Thunderhawks held strong and played through until the end.  Golden’s coach, Kurt Ohlen, was proud of his team and grateful for the Thunderhawks’ heart as they gave the Demons a fierce competition and an exciting game.  Golden Demons’ sophomore Austin Thompson lead the game with three goals to start off the season. Other highlights from the Golden v. Prairie View game were Tom Candlin (who is signed to play for NCAA D2 Adams State next season) with an impressive 83% face off percentage, Zack Jordan with four assists, and Taner Dagdelen with an impressive 69% in goal tend average. Last week’s Player of the Week was Golden High School’s junior attackman Zack Jordan. Zack has been invited to participate in the Young Guns Showdown on on June 11 come the Denver Outlaws’ home game to support him as he competes with the remaining Players of the Week in a trick shot competition during the game.
