Colorado is at the forefront of lacrosse’s bright future, as the sports popularity among youths and parents have coupled to attract some of the most active players and fans in the nation. In fact, in September 2009 Denver was rated the “Best Lacrosse Town” in the country (Inside Lacrosse Magazine). As of this year there are 275 youth programs and 111 high school varsity teams in the state. On the youth side that’s an increase of over 600% since 2001!
