Outlaws Announce Final 23-Man Roster

The Denver Outlaws Lacrosse Team named its final 23-man roster today, as Head Coach and General Manager Brian Reese finalized the squad heading into the season opener this Saturday (May 15) at 5:00 p.m. MT. The core of the team from 2009 returns, with 16 of the same players who played in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Championship game donning the black and orange once again. Key returners include attackmen Matt Brown (Denver '05) and Dan Hardy (Syracuse '09), midfielder Brian Langtry (Hofstra '98), defenseman Lee Zink (Maryland '04) and goalie Jesse Schwartzman (Johns Hopkins '07). With this cast the Outlaws also return the league's 2009 Rookie of the Year (Hardy) and the 2009 Goalie of the Year (Schwartzman).

“We are looking forward to starting our 2010 season,” said Brian Reese. “We have a few new faces who earned a spot in training camp as well as some veterans that will lead this team on the field.”

The Outlaws roster also features five athletes who will represent the country this summer in the 2010 FIL World Championships (July 15-24). Those players include Brendan Mundorf (UMBC '06) and Drew Westervelt (UMBC '07) at attack, midfielder Max Seibald (Cornell '09), defenseman Eric Martin (Salisbury State '04) and goalie Adam Fullerton (West Point '08).

“This team is extremely fast and athletic and has great players at each position,” added Reese. “If we can gel as a team we will compete for an MLL Championship.”

The Denver Outlaws kick off their season in five days when they take on the Boston Cannons at Harvard Stadium in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, May 15 (5:00 p.m. MT).
