DENVER — Attackman Brendan Mundorf has been named the Week 1 MLL Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Mundorf set a new Outlaws single-game record with 10 points, and finished the game with six goals along with four assists. His 10 points tied an MLL mark for the most in an opener ( Ryan Powell, Roc., 7 G, 3 A, 5/22/04). The six goals are the third most ever scored in an MLL opener.

Mundorf needed just one quarter to notch his 28 th career hat trick, and fourth consecutive opening-day hat trick, on the way to his franchise-best ninth Bud Light game MVP honor. His 10 points are the most by an MLL player since John Grant, Jr. tallied 11 points for Rochester on July 26, 2008.

The Outlaws’ all-time leading scorer with 212 points, Mundorf has scored 150 goals with 62 assists in his career. He ranked fourth in the MLL last year with 38 points (22 G, 16 A). This marks the 19 th time an Outlaw has received an MLL Player of the Week Award, and it is the third time that Mundorf has received the honor. His last MLL Offensive Player of the Week Award came in Week 12 of 2010, making this the second time in team history that a player has received Player of the Week awards in consecutive weeks ( Jesse Schwartzman, Weeks 5 and 6 in 2009).

The Outlaws (1-0) travel to Boston this weekend to take on the Cannons (1-0), who will field the MLL’s Week 1 Defensive Player of the Week in goalie Kip Turner. Turner saved 21-of-32 shots (.656 pct.) in leading the Cannons to a 15-9 victory over the Long Island Lizards. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT at Harvard Stadium, and will be broadcast live on Altitude and

The Outlaws return home Saturday, June 11 to face the Chesapeake Bayhawks at 7 p.m. MDT. Tickets are available for as low as $10 and may be purchased online at www.DenverOutlaws.comor over the phone by calling 303-OUTLAWS.
